Fabulous shot, Gale. Those low clouds give a great deal of drama and the volcanic rock is what I like to explore.
Gale McAll: Thanks Mary.. the rocks have so much charecter.
Good result ! Well done. The cape peninsula sure has some lovely spots. I will be on holiday in the Strand during March and hope to pic up some good photo's again.
Gale McAll: Hope you enjoy. Where are you from? It is beautiful. Thanks for commenting Ernest
WOW, this is a glorious capture Gale
Gale McAll: Thanks Michelle
Whatever you did, it worked very well! Lovely photograph. (:o)
Gale McAll: Thanks Rosalyn.. I took the sky from one, the rocks from the other and faded out the areas that I didnt want showning through. Its an VERY amature version of what Louis does with HDR. http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/hdr.shtml
Excellent. Would have liked to look over your shoulder to follow the process.
Gale McAll: Louis if I could remember the detail of what I did I would tell you but it was basically trying out the HDR process manually. I took the sky from one, the rocks from the other and faded out the areas that I did'nt want showing through. Far from perfect but it was fun. Have a great weekend and thanks for the comment.
What a beautiful shot !!! These clouds, these rocks ... wouaw !!! I just love it and put it in my likeys !!!

Isn't that what we call HDR, Gale? I LOVE HDR and this is the effect it has. WOW. You go!
Gale McAll: It is Ginnie.. but i havent found HDR on photoshop yet.. still need to try it. I did this manually using layers and selecting areaa and fading.. Thanks GINNIE!!

fantastic Gale thats all i can say
Gale McAll: Thanks a million Tim.. appreciated
It's an absolutely superb picture.
It's HDR isn't it? Did you need to use special software to combine the images?
Gale McAll: Hi Ellie.. yes but I did this manually on photoshop c2.. using layers.. I took the sky from one, the rocks from the other and faded out the areas that I did'nt want showing through. Far from perfect but it was fun. I do believe that photoshop c2 has a HDR function but I havnt tried it yet. Thanks for commenting. Louis is the HDR specilist.
